Antique English Blue Transferware Dinner Plates, Set of Two, Circa 1900
Description
England, circa 1890–1910
Some of the prettiest tables begin with the simplest pieces.
This pair of antique English transferware plates features an elegant cobalt blue floral border wrapped in scrolling botanical motifs, beautifully softened by over a century of gentle use.
Their creamy ironstone bodies have developed the warm ivory tone and delicate crazing that collectors love—subtle reminders of a life well lived and countless meals shared.
Whether displayed on open shelving, layered into a traditional table setting, or hung as decorative wall plates, they bring effortless English country-house character to any space.
Timeless enough for everyday styling and special enough to become heirlooms.
Very good antique condition.
Both plates display gentle age-related wear consistent with over a century of use, including light utensil marks, fine overall crazing, and minor firing imperfections typical of antique English transferware. The cobalt transfer remains wonderfully crisp with beautifully aged coloration. No major chips or cracks observed from the provided photographs.
