Antique French Rococo Brass Easel Frame, Circa 1900

$265.00
Description

France, circa 1900. Cast brass with easel stand.

Every old house has one photograph nobody asks about.

This is the frame for that photograph.

Dating to the early twentieth century and inspired by the exuberant curves of the French Rococo period, this beautifully cast brass easel frame transforms even the simplest portrait into something worthy of display.

The openwork scrolling foliage catches the light from every angle, giving it as much presence empty as it has holding a treasured photograph.

Some frames simply hold memories.

This one becomes one.

Item Condition

Very good antique condition.

The brass has developed a rich, warm patina consistent with age, with light wear and gentle rubbing to the finish that beautifully enhances its antique character. Easel stand functions as intended, and the frame presents beautifully.
